Product Manager - Medical Device

From the email bag:

I am looking to fill the following position, does anyone come to mind? If so, I would appreciate it if you could point them in my direction.

Best regards,
Toby Blank
Management Recruiters of Atlanta-Peachtree North

email: toby@mriatl.com

This dynamic and cutting edge international medical device company located in the South, is searching for a 'hands on' Product Manager with a minimum of 3 years experience in the  medical device arena. This position, reporting to the Director of Product Marketing, has a travel component up 30% (both domestic and international).
Are you looking to build a management foundation? With this position you will be able to manage one Associate Product Manager (maybe two) and help develop their skills and monitor their performance.
Your Bachelors Degree in Marketing (MBA preferred) and prior medical device industry experience (dental field a plus) will get you noticed by my client.

You will plan, organize, and control an assigned product line from concept to product life cycles, targeting the growth objectives of the company. Additionally, you will participate in overall product strategies, research and development and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products. The list goes on.
This company offers a fabulous salary, tremendous benefits, a chance to be promoted from within, and a six figure income your very first year. The company WILL relocate a candidate to the area. Since we are not resume collectors, we will not waste your time if we do not have an opportunity that fits your background. We also ask that you do not waste our time if you do not have the requisite experience.

From Medzilla: an interview question

What do you think of this one? I get asked a lot to give examples of interview questions. Here's an usual one found on Medzilla. The most interesting answer was "I'd ask what the point spread was." Any takers?

I used to be a DM for Pfizer. In the middle of interviews, I would ask which animal would win a fight-a grizzly bear or a male lion? The question was out of left field but I wanted to see if the candidates could think on their feet and come up with some logical argument. There was no right or wrong answer. But it put some candidates, especially young women in a huge fluster.
